The Beginning of My Journey

Around a year ago I started my new adventure as a crafter.  I reached deep into my wallet and purchased a new Cricut Air Expressions 2.  I had the original Cricut but did not use it much because I thought it was slow and waisted paper.  One of my co-workers pretty much talked me into it.  So, I headed to the nearby JoAnne’s and brought home the machine.  It didn’t take long to purchase most of the supplies I needed.  I practiced labeling things around the house.  I turned my son’s bedroom into a temporary craft room while he was away at college. I started watching all kinds of YouTube videos and joined Facebook groups for Cricut ideas.

About a month after my purchase, I saw a video on how to make a tumbler with Epoxy.  It intrigued me and I thought that would be my thing.  I invested in a turner and many of the supplies I needed.  I started making tumblers for all my friends and family as gifts, hoping they would spread the word and send me customers.  My husband built me a second turner out of a rotisserie motor and some plywood.  I set up a business PayPal account and my own Facebook group and page. For the next 6 months I kept busy filling orders.

One of my breast cancer awareness tumblers.

Since Christmas the business began to slow down.  I started to lose interest in my craft.  I read on some of my group pages that other crafters were feeling the same way.  I did not want to stop working completely and hoped that I will turn it around.  Because of the Coronavirus, many of us were forced not to work at our nonessential jobs, so I found my self without income.  I decided that my tumblers were not on the top of anyone’s essential needs list.  So then I turned my focus on writing, hoping it would help bring some income for my family.

This page will be focused on crafting ideas and how I can help others in that area and maybe share ways you can earn money selling your crafts someday.  I will be working on adding links to help you find products and ideas that will be helpful along the way.  Happy crafting!

    1. Hi I think you can sign up for a free trial for full access. You might have to give a credit card. I did that and then canceled when the free membership expired. I did not know you had a cricut!!
